Chelsea almost had a spectacular comeback against Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup pre-season game.

The game was going to be a tough one for the Blues, but it was even tougher than expected.

There were starts for Andreas Christensen and Jeremy Boga, as Conte played the rest of the team that started against Arsenal.

Chelsea starting XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Boga; Batshuayi.

Bayern starting XI: Starke; Rafinha, Martinez, Hummels, Friedl; Sanchez, Tolisso; James, Muller, Ribery; Lewandowski

Six minutes into the game Chelsea were already down to a goal as Rafinha opened the scoring. By the half hour mark, it was already 3-0 to Bayern with Thomas Muller netting a brace.

Chelsea were slow to enter the game but began to pick up after Bayern’s third goal.

Just on the stroke of half-time, a cracking finish by Marcos Alonso who didn’t do well defensively gave Chelsea a goal to make the scores 3-1 at half-time.

New boy Alvaro Morata came on just after one hour played and paired upfront with Michy Batshuayi.

With 18 minutes left, a scruffy long-range effort from David Luiz deflected and hit the post as Chelsea started to mount a late pressure.

With five minutes left to play, Batshuayi scored the second for Chelsea. Fabregas whipped in a cross from the corner on the left, and it flicked off the head of Wintzheimer and fell to Batshuayi, who sends it home from four yards out.
