Chelsea have agreed to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and the deal might go on to be the most expensive in the club’s history since the Blues paid £50 million to sign Fernando Torres from Liverpool on transfer deadline day back in January 2011.

Chelsea’s deal for Morata is said to be worth around £60 million and all that’s left for the deal to be a done one is for the 24-year-old to complete his medical and sign agreed terms with the Blues.

When the deal becomes complete, this will be the top five Chelsea’s most expensive signing:

£60m – Alvaro Morata (2017). The deal might rise to over £70m depending on certain clauses.

£50m – Fernando Torres (2011)

£40m – Tiemoue Bakayoko (2017)

£34m – David Luiz (2016)

£33m – Michy Batshuayi (2016)
