Antonio Conte has finally got his man after Chelsea and Real Madrid agreed a fee for the 24-year-old.
The Spain international bade farewell to his teammates at Los Angeles yesterday before boarding a flight to England and is now in the capital city.
Alvaro Morata has spoken to the media for the first time after landing in London this morning.
He spoke to Sky Sports after touching down London.
“It’s the best league in the world,” he told Sky Sports.
“I spoke with Azpilicueta. He told me everything was OK here.”
Morata has told Sky Sports he was convinced to join Chelsea because of Antonio Conte.
When asked why he’s signing for Chelsea, Morata said: “Because it’s the best club.
“Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches in the world and I’m so happy to work with Antonio.”
Morata was wanted by Manchester United earlier this summer but a deal failed to materialise, with United signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton instead.
When asked why a move to United broke down, he said: “I don’t know. The most important thing is I am here, I’m playing for Chelsea. Finally I’m here.”
