Chelsea have completed the signing of Germany international defender, Antonio Rudiger from Roma on a five-year contract for a reported fee of £34million.
24-year-old Rudiger was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer before an injury ended Chelsea’s interest. Rudiger joins Chelsea one week after helping Germany win the Confederations Cup.
Rudiger is Chelsea’s second signing of the summer following the free transfer of former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
Following the departures of Nathan Ake and John Terry this summer, Chelsea needed defensive reinforcements and the completion of this transfer would definitely please Chelsea boss Antonio Conte who is a keen admirer of the German international.
