Young forward Ike Ugbo has today completed a move to Championship side Barnsley on loan for the 2017/18 season.

The Chelsea academy product was our top scorer in the development squad last season, and his 10 goals in the FA Youth Cup helped us win the trophy for the fourth consecutive year.

The 18-year-old is seen as a huge prospect for the future and is part of Chelsea’s young generation of players that has been tipped to dominate the Premier League in the near future.

Ugbo was part of the success in the previous campaign and helped our Under-19s win back-to-back UEFA Youth League titles in 2015 and 2016.

He was also part of the young English squad that retained the Toulon Tournament trophy this summer and will join the Championship side for his first experience of senior football.
