After all the rumours about a Manchester United hijack in the Tiemoue Bakayako deal and the 22-year-old failing a medical, the signing of Bakayako from Monaco has been finally completed and confirmed.
Chelsea confirmed the signing of the French international as the Blues paid £40 million for his signature, as he signed a five-year contract.
Bakayoko, who has signed a five-year contract and will wear the No.14 shirt, told the official Chelsea website: “I am very happy to be here and to join this great team. I have grown up watching Chelsea. Signing was the natural thing for me because it is a club I loved very much in my childhood.
“I am now looking forward to evolving under this fantastic coach and alongside so many great team-mates.”
Bakayako is Chelsea’s third signing in this transfer window.
