Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been linked with a Chelsea exit this summer after the 28-year-old striker revealed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte told him via a text message that he wasn’t part of his plans for next season.
Costa could yet play for Chelsea next season after a report on The Sun claimed Costa is willing to hold peace talks with Conte.
According to the report, Costa’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has contacted Chelsea’s hierarchy with a view to arranging a peace summit. But senior officials at Chelsea concede Conte holds the final decision on the striker.
Costa wants to be part of Spain’s World Cup team and he would need to be playing regularly to achieve that. He is willing to settle his differences with Conte to ensure he stays at Chelsea next season and play regularly to secure his place in Spain’s World Cup squad.
