Chelsea’s pursuit of Roma defender Antonio Rudiger could be wrapped up this week as the 24-year-old is reportedly in London to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Chelsea.

Rudiger, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Conte’s move for Virgil van Dijk and Leonardo Bonucci failed to materialise.

Sky Sport Italia claim the deal is worth €35m plus €4m bonuses (total £34.2m). That is the transfer is worth £30.7m plus another £3.5m in performance-related bonuses

The German international wowed fans during the Confederations Cup and is seen as a long-term replacement for former Chelsea skipper John Terry.

He will apparently sign a five-year contract worth £3.5m-a-season, which will see him earn £77,000-a-week.
