Antonio Rudiger is the name that has been linked with Chelsea the most since the past week. Reports claim Chelsea have made progress in their bid to sign the German defender from Roma, and such rumours have intensified since the report that Roma is closing in on a deal for Rudiger’s replacement.
Rudiger is expected to have his medicals this week, after an impressive performance in the Confederations Cup with Germany, as they went on to win Chile 1-0 in the final on Sunday.
Football Italia claim Roma are nearing a deal for Estudiantes central defender Juan Marcos Foyth, who is being earmarked as a replacement for Rudiger at the heart of their defence.
The 19-year-old is coming from Argentinian football but would be expected to fill the huge void left by Rudiger’s departure this summer, with a fee of around £7.9m being mooted.
