Chelsea travelled to Asia yesterday for the Blues’ pre-season tour of Asia with Chelsea set to play Arsenal in Beijing, China and then play Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in Singapore.
Six Chelsea players didn’t travel with the squad for the preseason tour of Asia.
Eden Hazard is out with an injury, Tiemoue Bakayako is also out with an injury, Antonio Rudiger was given extended leave to rest and recuperate ahead of next season because of his engagement in the German national team that played in the Confederations Cup. Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa were also omitted as their future with the club is still in doubt, and Kurt Zouma is set to join Stoke City on loan.
Of the three new signings, only Willy Caballero will join the squad for pre-season. There will be opportunities given to other youngsters from the academy as well. Academy goalkeeper Marcin Bulka and Academy midfielder Kyle Scott are part of the squad.
