Chelsea have chased Roma defender Antonio Rudiger for the second summer in a row, and it seems it’s second time lucky for the Blues.
Chelsea have chased the German international for two seasons but an injury threat before the start of last season made Chelsea pull out of the deal and now the Blues are said to have gotten their man for £34m.
The 24-year-old has impressed in the Serie A for Roma and has admitted that he’s looking forward to playing in the Premier League despite the fact he’s enjoying his time in Rome.
He said: “I love good weather and good food. But I was born in Berlin, and you also have bad weather there often enough. I might have everything I am longing for in Rome, but I have always said that one day I would like to play in England. That has not changed to this day.”
