After former Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku joined rivals Manchester United, stories of Manchester United hijacking Chelsea’s deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko immediately emerged.
According to reliable Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Bakayoko would join Chelsea and stories of Manchester United hijacking Chelsea’s deal for the midfielder are false.
“Chelsea are pressing ahead on their move for Tiemoue Bakayoko,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News
“They are close to signing the Monaco midfielder and he will have a medical in the next few days.
“The fee is expected to be just under £40m.
“There have been reports Manchester United are trying to hijack the deal again, but we’re told they have no interest in Bakayoko and they have not made a bid for him.”
Manchester United haven’t submitted a bid for Bakayoko because the 22-year-old midfielder prefers to play for Premier League champions Chelsea.
The best players play for Premier League champions and not Europa League winners. LOL.
