The Tiemoue Bakayako to Chelsea move is one that has dragged on for so long. The 22-year-old was to be Chelsea’s first signing but his signing hasn’t been confirmed yet due to a niggling injury.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea hope Bakayoko will complete his medical and get the all clear to sign before they go on pre-season tour to China and Singapore on Monday, but the 22-year-old’s fitness remains a concern.
The deal for Bakayako could have since been concluded but for a knee injury the Monaco midfielder is carrying.
Bakayako is expected to be a key player for Chelsea and with the club willing to sell Nemanja Matic this summer, the 22-year-old will be his replacement and will partner N’Golo Kante in midfield.
Eden Hazard is also another Chelsea player that won’t start the season after suffering an ankle injury while on international duty with Belgium last month.
