The arrival of a new striker is the news making waves in South West London. Chelsea’s signing of Spanish striker, Alvaro Morata. Here are 3 facts about the striker you need to know:
CASTILLA ACADEMY PRODUCT:
The Spanish striker is a product of Real Madrid’s Castilla. Morata joined Real Madrid in 2008 from neighbours Getafe. Morata made 83 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla between 2010 and 2013 and scored 45 goals. He made his Real Madrid first team debut in 2010 and made 37 appearances for Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014 and scored 10 goals. He left Real Madrid for Juventus in 2014 but returned to the club last summer after Madrid activated a release clause in his contract.
A FULL SPAIN INTERNATIONAL:
The Striker has featured for Spain at youth level and was part of the victorious sides at the 2011 Euro U-19 & 2013 Euro U-21 Championships finishing as top scorer at both tournaments before being handed his senior debut in 2014.
The striker can boast of being a serial winner with league titles & cup medals with Madrid and Juventus, and also a Champions league double winner with the former. He has both international and Europe competition experience. At 6’2, the Spaniard is good in the air, a clinical finisher with his mobility, good movement and work rate as his assets.
