Former Chelsea and France defenders William Gallas and Marcel Desailly have backed the latest Chelsea signing Tiemoue Bakayako to shine at Chelsea.
Gallas believes his countryman has what it takes to shine at the club where he also made his mark, winning two Premier League titles, having moved to Chelsea from Marseille.
“He had a great season with Monaco,” Gallas, now a French TV pundit, said.
“He is a typical midfielder who can play in front of the centre-backs and at the same time he can go in front, he can hold the ball and go forward. He can read the game very well as well.”
While former Chelsea skipper Desailly believes Bakayako will adapt to Antonio Conte’s tactics.
“He showed in the collective of Monaco he was able to be one of the key players,” our former skipper Desailly added.
“Let’s hope he will adapt to the system. Once Conte wants a player he means he has identified him as matching fully with his philosophy of the game. It’s great news and it will boost Chelsea higher.”
