James Rodriguez have been frustrated with his time at Real Madrid since Zinedine Zidane became Madrid boss and is reportedly hoping to complete a transfer away from Real Madrid in the next 48 hours.
Reports claim the 25-year-old wants to avoid joining up with the club for the start of their pre-season tour.
According to AS, Rodriguez is hoping to speed up his departure from the Spanish capital over the course of the next 48 hours as he plans to miss the team’s trip to the US for pre-season.
The report claims Chelsea are still favourites for his signature.
Real Madrid have been bent on making profit from the sale of Rodriguez but recent reports suggest the Spanish champions are ready to accept a fee of around £52m for Rodriguez.
The position of the Colombian isn’t one Chelsea are in dire need of, but it might still be a good signing to improve the mood of the fans after what has been a dull transfer window so far for the Chelsea family.
