Chelsea have agreed a deal with Real Madrid to sign Alvaro Morata as Chelsea seek a top striker to replace Diego Costa who has been told by Antonio Conte that he can leave the club.
Costa has further infuriated Conte the more with a live feed on Instagram some days as he took a dig at the Chelsea manager.
There haven’t been many clubs who have shown interest in the 28-year-old.
And now Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has admitted that Atletico’s inability to sign players due to the transfer ban could hamper the deal.
Cerezo said: “Costa is a Chelsea player at the moment, and you know for a long time now that we cannot sign anyone.
“Diego is a magnificent player, a great player, he was in Spain for many years.
“He has had a good spell in England, learned English, English customs. He will return to Spain someday – on holiday.
“Madrid is a lovely place to visit, if you have the money to enjoy it.”
Now that Morata’s deal is all but sure, what next for Costa?
