With a new Premier League season set to kick off this weekend, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has sent a warning to the Chelsea board.
Conte has urged the board to improve the quality of the squad so Chelsea would be ready to fight for the title this season.
“My club knows very well our priorities and I hope to improve our squad, to improve our quality and to then be ready to fight for this season,” he told Sky Sports.
When pressed if it would be hard to fight for the title without new signings, Conte said: “Yes, for sure.
“This league is not easy, you have to fight against at least five other teams.
“It’s different to other countries where you have two teams fight for the title.
“Here, you have six teams very strong and you must be prepared to fight.”
