Diego Costa has been on exile from Chelsea as he seeks a move back to Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old has been in Brazil and has refused to train with the reserve team after being banished from the first team by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
And Atletico Madrid captain Gabi, has confirmed Atletico’s interest in Costa but has warned the former Atletico star to have respect for his club.
“He is in a complicated situation,” Gabi, 34, said at a press conference. “He has already spoken publicly, but in the end they have to reach agreements.
“From what I know, Atletico Madrid want to bring him [back] and he wants to come, but Chelsea are in the middle and we cannot enter there.
“When you form part of a club you have to respect it and do it in the best way.
“The better you leave a club, the better your image will be and the better you will leave the situation.”
