Chelsea summer signing Tiemoue Bakayako made his debut appearance for Chelsea on Sunday, and it was a tightly contested 2-1 victory against Tottenham.
Bakayako hadn’t played a single game since the end of last season and considering his lack of match fitness, Bakayoko admitted he was surprised Conte didn’t substitute him at Wembley.
“It was something special. It was my first match coming back from my injury,” he told SFR Sport.
“Since I signed, I was looking forward to wear that shirt. That’s done now, I’m really happy and we won too so it was a very good day.
“I’m happy for the team, we get our first three points so it’s great for the future.
“I didn’t expect to play 90 minutes on the pitch.”
The £40 million signing spent the entire minutes on the pitch as he experienced firsthand the breathtaking nature of the Premier League.
