New Chelsea signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is yet to feature for Chelsea as the 22-year-old hasn’t yet recovered from a knee injury.

Bakayoko did not travel on the Blues’ pre-season tour to China and Singapore last month due to the injury and it now appears that he will miss the start of the season.

The French international has been back at Cobham receiving treatment, and is eager to make his Chelsea debut after posting a teasing message on Twitter. “Soon” he wrote on Twitter, followed by three hour glasses and then with the word “top”.

Bakayoko will definitely miss Sunday’s Community Shield and the opening game against Burnley, and Antonio Conte has revealed that he isn’t ready to rush the player.

Conte said before the Inter game: “We will not rush them back as every player must be in the best of form to play, otherwise they are put in a bad position which could be damaging for the team.

“Bakayoko is in a similar position like Eden.”
