After playing a pivotal part in Vitesse Arnhem’s history-making Dutch Cup success last season, Lewis Baker joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan during the summer.
The 22-year-old was expected to fight for his shirt in Chelsea this season, but it wasn’t to be.
Baker stole the show in Boro’s 3-0 win against Scunthorpe United, scoring a wonderful goal and controlling the game in the midfield.

Baker has revealed his happiness at scoring the goal.
“I’m happy to get my first goal in a Middlesbrough shirt,” Bakers said to the Boro website.
“We have a great squad, to start for me was great and I need to keep putting performances like today to show why I should.
“It was a great day for us – I thought we performed well and we’re through to the next round, which is the main thing.”
My team Chelsea is very exciting this season despite our first defeat this season we never relent against spurs and we will not relent against any team we will keep fighting till the end.
