Michy Batshuayi ended last season on a high for Chelsea, scoring the winning goal that gave Chelsea the title against West Brom and going on to score in the remaining league matches of the season.
However, this season hasn’t started out well for the striker who was signed for £33 million last summer. He had a poor game against Burnley and came on to score an own goal four minutes after replacing Alvaro Morata against Tottenham.
French club Lille are reportedly preparing a £37million move for Batshuayi, but reports claim he isn’t interested in an exit and wants to fight for his Chelsea shirt.
With Morata still finding his feet in west London, and Costa no longer part of Conte’s plans, Batshuayi feels he has a significant role to play this season as Chelsea look to compete in the Champions League while also defending their title.
Chelsea have now been linked with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
