Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has backed Tiemoue Bakayoko to fill the void in Chelsea’s midfield after Nemanja Matic joined Manchester United this summer.
“From seeing him in the Champions League last year, and that’s all I’ve seen of him, he’s a powerful, talented player that I think will fit that role,” Lampard told Football London.
“It’s the same with every player that come to the Premier League, there’s always that question mark no matter who you are as the league’s so different.
“We’ll be sitting here looking, not just at Bakayoko, but Manchester City and all these clubs that have brought in players to see if they can perform.
“I do think Bakayoko is a beast of a player. He’s 22 years of age and, if he carries on where he left off at the end of last season he will be a great signing.”
