Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to add to the midfield following the departure of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United on Monday.
According to a report on Daily Mail, Chelsea are reportedly interested in Leicester City midfielder, Danny Drinkwater.
27-year-old Drinkwater would boost Chelsea’s home-grown contingent but the England international is reportedly concerned about moving to Chelsea as he could end up in a peripheral role as Conte aims to pair Tiemoue Bakayoko with N’Golo Kante as his midfield engine room of choice.
Other players in the shortlist to replace Matic include Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches, Everton’s Ross Barkley and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
