Chelsea at some point had it easy last season, as the Blues lost only five games and won 30 en route to winning the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.
Chelsea faced competition only from Tottenham last season, as the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool fizzled out early in the race for the Premier League title.
However, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is expecting a tougher challenge this season.
Asked about Chelsea’s title rivals, Courtois told Sky Sports: “I think you can see Manchester United have started very well.
“Obviously [Man] City have bought well and I think Liverpool showed [against Arsenal] that they’re up for the task as well this season.
“The Premier League is always hard and we will try to be there until the last day and hopefully we can retain it.”
