Chelsea boss Antonio Conte opted to start David Luiz in central midfield alongside N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday.
Luiz revealed after the game that Conte told him run a lot and close the space Tottenham’s creative players had.
“Run! Running a lot and close off the space to the fantastic players like Eriksen and Dele Alli,” Luiz told Sky Sports.
“They always play very well between the lines so I was trying to close this gap and don’t leave the space for them to create.
“So I try to do my best and it was good because we won.”
