Chelsea have been linked with Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, as Conte seeks to strengthen his midfield before the close of the transfer window.
However, Barkley has picked up an injury, what’s suspected to be an hamstring injury.
Speaking of the injury, Everton manager Ronald Koeman said: “He stopped training I think it was last Monday. It looks like a hamstring injury, but we need to do more tests today and tomorrow to know exactly what the injury is.
“We need to wait.”
“No, no. At this moment, no [information on extent of injury].”
And, why asked about whether this injury could affect a potential move, Koeman said: “I don’t know, I don’t know. There’s no update about his situation.
“I will wait until the end of August [to see if Barkley is in plans].”
The 23-year-old has looked destined to leave Goodison Park this summer after reportedly refusing to sign a new contract with his boyhood club. Could this injury setback hamper any potential deal for him to join Chelsea?
