Chelsea have spent upwards of £130m on new signings this summer, as the Blues have spent massively to sign Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
However the Chelsea squad still looks thin and many have written off Chelsea from winning the league.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has complained of the squad at his disposal and has revealed he needs more signings. But former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley, who played for the Blues in the 1990s, accepts that Conte needs further reinforcements but he should also appreciate the signings the club have made.
Burley told ESPN: “It’s not as if they’ve brought in water carriers.
“You know, Rudiger, is a German international. Bakayoko, one of the most sought after, dynamic midfielders, coming off the back of a great season at Monaco.
“Alvaro Morata, who amongst others has played for Juventus, Real Madrid and Spain and is still a young guy with potentially a huge future in front of him.
“Now, he might not have got all his players, or as deep a squad as he wanted, but he’s signed some good players.”
