The time is ticking against Diego Costa as nothing tangible has been done about his career. It’s yet to be seen if the 28-year-old striker will remain at the club, move on loan elsewhere or join Atletico Madrid.
However, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed he’d gladly welcome Costa to Goodison Park.
Asked about the possibility of striking a deal for the Chelsea attacker, Koeman said: “I have always said there will be a warm welcome for every good player here and he is a good player.
“We are still looking to bring in a striker. It is not about being unhappy with Dominic [Calvert-Lewin] – I am very happy with him – but he is still young and we need more competition up front.
“We have tough fixtures and a lot of international players and a lot of players selected for the under-21s – six Everton players with England.
“For young players the most difficult thing is being regular with their performances but Dominic, like Tom Davies, is doing exceptionally well.”
