Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is a more complete player than Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette. Cascarino also believes Morata is similar to former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
“He will fit Chelsea’s system perfectly,” Cascarino wrote in The Times.
“He will have to be up for the fight like Diego Costa but he has all the attributes as a target man. He has played for Juventus and Real Madrid so his technical skills have been honed and are perfect for holding the ball up and bringing team-mates into the game.
“He won’t burst clear of defenders but has decent pace once he gets going. His speed is based more on anticipation in the box and an ability to nip in front of defenders for a first-time finish – I think he will get a lot of goals like this.
“He can score with both feet and reminds me a bit of Ruud van Nistelrooy but isn’t quite as good a poacher. A lot of his goals will be scored in the box with first-time finishes and reaction shots.
“He is not ahead of Lacazette on talent but he’s more of a complete player and will suit his new team better.”
