Chelsea academy graduate Nathaniel Chalobah rejected a new Chelsea contract this summer and opted to join Watford after failing to getting assurances from Antonio Conte he would get more playing time at Chelsea this season.
Chalobah has been impressive for Watford this season and the 22-year-old has received his first senior call-up just one month after leaving Chelsea for Watford.
Chalobah would be part of the England team that would play Malta on September 1 before facing Slovakia at Wembley Stadium three days later. England are currently top of their World Cup qualifying group (F).
Chelsea’s lack of English players in the first team means Gary Cahill is the only Chelsea player called up by England boss Gareth Southgate.
