If there is one thing I’m sure of as one of the qualities of our summer signing, Blues centre-back Antonio Rudiger, it is pace.
The 24-year-old didn’t have much time on the pitch, but it was enough for him to show his pace by outrunning Danny Welbeck who’s also equally blessed with pace.
Chelsea legend Pat Nevin also noticed Rudiger’s pace and hailed the German international.
Pat Nevin wrote in his column in the official Chelsea website: “The defence looks up to speed for the opener and one glimpse of Antonio Rudiger underlines that pace is not going to be a problem for him.”
He also highlighted the performances of Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante. “Cesc was passing well, N’Golo Kante was just being unnaturally brilliant with his tackling, as usual, but poor old Pedro is probably having the unluckiest pre-season in history so far,” Nevin wrote.
