There’s so much pressure on the latest Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata after the Blues paid a club record £60 million to sign the Spain international from Real Madrid.

The Premier League season is yet to begin and the media have heaped so much pressure on the 24-year-old, making us to wonder what will happen when the actual season begins.

Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who scored 88 goals in 177 appearances for the Blues, is confident the new Chelsea striker will be a success and has backed him to shine.

He wrote on Twitter: “@AlvaroMorata can make a big impact at #CFC this season.

“A good old fashioned out-and-out striker who lives to score goals.”

Morata scored 20 goals in all competitions last season for Real Madrid, despite playing second-fiddle to Karim Benzema for the majority of the campaign. And it’s hard to understand why he’s being put under pressure even from Chelsea fans before the start of the season.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

Football fans are so demanding they normally don’t reason why and how we sometimes loose games. They think of winning every game as if players are robots. They don’t study the environment behind defeats. Personally i have trust in Alvaro Morata. He is a good striker. I am sure after playing two or three EPL matches he could be confident enough to overcome pressure from fans and media.I expect him to score as many goals as he can because he was born to score. Let us wait and see, he will prove fans wrong.
