Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez looked a doubt for Sunday’s Community Shield game after he suffered an injury during pre-season. The Spain international had his pre-season cut short early from the club’s tour of Asia after a nasty collision with Arsenal keeper David Ospina during Chelsea and Arsenal’s pre-season meeting in Beijing.

Pedro is edging towards a comeback for that game and is now back to training but is wearing a protective mask.

Pedro’s return to the team would be a welcome boost for Antonio Conte, with Tiemoue Bakayako and Eden Hazard out, while Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rudiger are yet to reach match fitness.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
