Chelsea winger Pedro was sent off after a challenge on Mohamed Elneny in the Community Shield clash on Sunday, and the Spaniard was immediately sent off by referee Bobby Madley.
Madley shocked everyone when he produced the straight red card, and on another occasion, it’d mean Pedro will miss Chelsea’s next game.
Chelsea will start their defence of the Premier League title with a home game against Burnley. However, the Spaniard can start against Burnley at the weekend as the Community Shield is not seen as an official game by the FA.
Victor Moses would have missed the game if it was an official match because he also saw a red in our last game of the previous season – a 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
Conte will be relieved Pedro can play the game with Eden Hazard out injured and Chelsea entering the new season with a very thin squad.
