Chelsea lost to Arsenal in the Community Shield played on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.
The Blues had gone ahead through Victor Moses shortly after the restart, but a late equaliser from Arsenal took the game into penalties and Arsenal carried the day.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had tipped Chelsea among the favourites for the title and still believes Chelsea will be in the hunt for a second title come 2018, insisting Chelsea remain a “top quality team”.
“They will be there again,” Wenger said when asked about Chelsea’s title credentials following the victory at Wembley.
“They are a top quality team – you cannot discount Chelsea.”
