Chelsea have completed the signing of four players this summer and reports claim the Blues are close to signing Antonio Candreva as the fifth player.
It’s expected that Chelsea will still sign more players this summer and according to Football Italia, Chelsea are close to sealing the deal with Inter and are prepared to offer £22m (€25m) for the Italy international.
Reports also claim that the 30-year-old Inter Milan winger is keen to leave Inter after just one season in Milan.
After Inter’s 2-1 win over Chelsea during pre-season, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti gave his opinion about a potential Chelsea deal for Candreva. He said: “A lot things happened during this summer in the market and this is another thing. But this is not true.
“We intend to keep Candreva. Even if we sell him we will need to bring in another wide player.”
With Chelsea thin in the wing position as Pedro and Eden Hazard are out, Chelsea see Candreva as a viable option in attack.
The Italian made 38 appearances for Inter last season of which 36 of them were starts and he provided ten assists and scored six league goals during the campaign.
