Chelsea are keen on signing a couple of players to strengthen the team before the transfer window closes on Thursday, and the club has been linked with Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater for some weeks now.

According to reports, Chelsea have agreed a £28 million deal with Everton for the 27-year-old midfielder.

It is believed that Leicester City rejected an initial £15 million bid for Drinkwater and according to French news outlet SFR Sport, the Blues have agreed to cough up around £28m for the England international.

Drinkwater is contracted to Leicester until 2021 – and is interested in the move to Stamford Bridge.
