Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in 23-year-old Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and according to reports the versatility of the England international has caught the attention of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, and the 48-year-old is keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Recent reports suggest the Ox as he’s fondly called by Gunners fans will be interested in a move to Chelsea and there are two key reasons prompting Oxlade-Chamberlain’s interest in switching North London for West London.
Reports claim Chelsea are ready to step up their interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain and table a £35m offer for the 23-year-old who’s in the final year of his contract.
The versatile man is interested in a move to Chelsea as he’s said to be attracted to Champions League football. Arsenal finished fifth last season and will miss out on Champions League football. According to reports, Oxlade-Chamberlain fancies Chelsea move because of the prospects of going far in the Champions League and also winning the Premier League title with the Blues.
The 23-year-old has greatly improved over the last two years and a move to Chelsea will also earn him a higher pay, one he feels he deserves.
Even Arsene Wenger has acknowledged Oxlade-Chamberlain’s improvement.
Wenger said: “Personally, I think he is a hugely talented player. He is on the way up and he will continue to move up because that potential is there.
“He is today very conscious of his qualities as well, which he was not always, and I personally believe he will be a very great player.”
