Chelsea are reportedly considering a shock move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy according to a report on Daily Mirror.
The 30-year-old striker scored 24 goals when Leicester City won the title 15 months ago and followed it up with 13 Premier League goals last season. He is already off the mark this season after scoring a brace against Arsenal in the opening weekend of the season.
Daily Mirror claim Vardy’s age and cost fits into Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia’s plan to run the club on a more sustainable basis. According to the report, Granovskaia feels there is better value in signing either younger players or older players rather than paying top dollar for stars in their prime.
Vardy snubbed a move to Arsenal last summer to stay at Leicester City after the Foxes won the Premier League title.
