We’ve come to that stage of the season where pundits and ex footballers alike tend to predict who could likely win the league at the end of the season.
Robbie Savage has revealed his predictions for the new season and like last season doesn’t tip Chelsea to win the league.
He has tipped Manchester United to win the league and fight for the title with Manchester City, while he predicted Chelsea will end the season in third position.
He wrote in his column in the Mirror: “What is going on at Stamford Bridge? I don’t understand why the champions have allowed Nemanja Matic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nat Chalobah to leave without oven-ready replacements in midfield.
“And Alvaro Morata is a fine player – but is he really an upgrade on Diego Costa? Chelsea were fantastic last season, but with Champions League football back on the menu, they will find the going heavier.”
He predicted that Liverpool will end up in 4th position and the two North London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham will end up outside the top four – 5th and 6th respectively.
Interestingly, stats and predictions don’t win league.
