Chelsea are still in the market for wing-backs as Antonio Conte seeks to add depth to the Chelsea team ahead of the new season.

Chelsea have missed out on a number of names who have been linked with the wing-back positions, and reports from Spain claim the Blues are close to signing a new right wing-back.

Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon say Valencia defender Joao Cancelo is heading to Stamford Bridge and a deal could be completed within hours.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol says Conte is a huge fan of Cancelo and has confirmed that Chelsea are indeed interested in Cancelo.

Solhekol said: “Conte wants to sign at least one wing-back this summer and one of the players he is interested in is Joao Cancelo.

“He’s a Valencia right-back who was scouted playing for Portugal at the European Under-21 Championships.

“And he’s been watched again during pre-season.

“Juventus and Spurs are also said to be interested.

“He’s valued at about £25m.”
