Newcastle were reported to have agreed a loan deal for Chelsea youngster Kenedy, but the 21-year-old was surprisingly included in the Chelsea team to face Burnley and hasn’t left Stamford Bridge to join Rafa Benitez yet.
Chelsea’s lack of depth is what has caused the deal to stall as the Blues had a thin squad heading into the game against Burnley. Extra suspension to Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas has even increased Antonio Conte’s headache.
However, Goal report that Kenedy’s move to Newcastle will still go through, but Chelsea have just stalled the deal for the time being as they work on getting new players in.
Conte still wants at least three to four more signings before the transfer window is shut, with positions such as the central midfield and the two wing-backs slot the more important areas while a new winger will also be a good addition to the group.
