Diego Costa has exited the Chelsea camp after being told to train with the reserve team. The Brazilian-born Spain international has been told by Antonio Conte that he won’t be needed this season and the pair’s relationship has been strained ever since.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was asked to compare Costa’s situation with that of Alexis Sanchez who has refused to sign a new contract with the club but the Arsenal manager has called them different scenarios.
“I have enough problems not to make an assessment on Chelsea’s problems” said Wenger.
“This is a special situation [with Costa] when you look from the outside – it’s a different situation.
“We always wanted to keep Sanchez and – we hope – even now that we can extend the contracts of Sanchez, Chamberlain and Ozil.
“So it’s difficult for me to analyse the Chelsea situation with Costa.”
