Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill has been out of action since getting a red card so early in the game against Burnley – in what was the first game of the season.
Cahill had to sit out three games on bench and will most likely feature against Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday.
He has revealed his excitement to be back in contention.
“I’m delighted to be back and available for selection,” said Cahill. “It was a disappointing first game for me but that’s in the past and now I’m itching to play, and looking forward to getting back involved with the squad.
“Any footballer will tell you the most frustrating thing is not being able to play, and with the internationals it’s been a long time that I’ve been out, but all you can do is try to influence the lads and train as hard as you can because they have important fixtures to prepare for, so you’re involved in that process. It’s frustrating but it’s about the team doing well and they’ve done very well of late.
“We’re working very well and building momentum by getting results. We realise we have a lot of games coming up this month and we know how important the squad is going to be, but we want to keep building momentum and that continues tomorrow with a big game for us.”
