Chelsea will be up against Qarabag in the Blues opening game in this season’s Champions League on Tuesday night.

Gary Cahill and David Luiz are the last surviving members of our 2012 Champions League winning squad, and Gary Cahill who’s a Champions League winner has revealed what it takes to win the competition.

He told the media today: “You need everything: a bit of luck, lots of quality and for the team to be playing very well. You’re competing against the very best in Europe but as players it’s exciting and for the fans it’s exciting.

“Obviously you need consistency week in, week out to win the Premier League. There are less games in the Champions League but when you reach the latter stages the competition is very strong.”
