Eden Hazard was a second-half substitute against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, and the 26-year-old only had about 20 minutes to make his mark in the game.
His introduction boosted Chelsea’s attack and gave two yellow cards to Arsenal players.
Hazard is yet to start a game this season as Antonio Conte doesn’t want him rushed back from injury.
But his display against Arsenal showed that he has reached full match fitness and should be starting games now.
Antonio Conte has confirmed that Hazard will start for Chelsea on Wednesday night against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup to ‘complete his recovery’. And from then on, our superstar could be a regular name on the starting lineup.
Conte said after the Arsenal game: “The last 20 minutes he played very well. On Wednesday he will have the chance to start against Nottingham Forest and then to complete his recovery. We hope that everything is okay after this game.”
Chelsea fans who were unhappy to see Hazard on the bench against Arsenal will be happy that Conte is now ready to throw him back into the starting lineup for Chelsea.
