Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing French wonderkid, Elye Wahi, who is also known as “Kante’s little brother” according to French media outlet Le Parisien.
The 14-year-old Caen striker grew up in the same Paris suburb of Courcouronnes and played for local amateur club JS Suresnes, just like Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante. Wahi is currently with Caen, the same club Kante played for before moving to England.
The major difference between Kante and Wahi is their playing position.
Wahi’s youth coach at JS Suresnes has hailed the 14-year-old striker.
“I remember a match against Racing where Elye scored five goals. He even hit the crossbar from midfield,” JS Suresnes youth coach Piotr Wojtyna said.
“He is a phenomenon in relation to his age. He is able to make a difference at any time with the ball.”
And when asked if Wahi or Kante was the biggest talent, he added: “Golo was an enormous man with great intelligence.
“Elye is a rough diamond that must progress the mental side of his game.
“This kid has a gift, I only hope he will not spoil it because he has a long way to go”
