Chelsea start their Champions League campaign against Qarabag on Tuesday night, three days after a difficult away game at the King Power Stadium, and then Arsenal awaits Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Antonio Conte has admitted that games like these are quite risky.
He said: “I like to call these kind of games tricky games. We played two days ago, and then we have to play tomorrow, and then we have to play a difficult game against Arsenal. We must pay attention.”
Conte then admitted that the team must work hard if they aim to win the Champions League.
“For sure in the Champions League we are starting a path. Remember before winning a competition you need to work very hard and improve every year step by step, and arrive then to be ready for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich or Juventus. You don’t create a big, strong team easily.
“It’s a great competition and we must be proud to play it. We must understand we are starting a path. I hope this path is short. We will try to be competitive in a short time and not wait three, four or five years.”
